Want to be an officer?

Hey everyone! We've had some officers turnover in the past semester, and we've created some new positions as well. With that in mind, the following positions are now open. If you're interested, please fill out an officers application and send it to president at gtacm.org by Sunday, February 10th.

**UPDATE on 2/11:Application deadline extended until 2/15/2008**
You can find the application here.

SIG (Special Interest Group) Chair
Oversees creation, development, and operations of SIGs.

Membership Chair (new position)
In charge of creating new ways to server our members, getting member input, and managing membership.

Co-Treasurer (new position)
Works in concert with existing Treasurer; shares duties with Treasurer.

Publicity Chair
Develops advertisements using a variety of media to get the word out about ACM and our programs.

Note that all of these positions are invited to the executive board meeting, and as such allow for input in other areas as well. These positions are a great way to build your leadership skills and become more active in the organization.

In addition, we are always looking for people to start and oversee Special Interest Groups. If you have an idea for a SIG you'd like to see or help create, contact president at gtacm.org for more details (you don't need to fill out this officer application).

We're baaaaack!

Hey everyone! ACM is back in action and ready for another great semester.
We kicked off this semester's series of Tech Talks last week with Amazon.com, and it was great to see many of you there. It was a really great experience to hear from such an influential company in e-commerce. Coming up in the next few weeks, we have even more exciting speakers and events for you!

First, next Tuesday, we will host a man who needs almost no introduction-Christopher Klaus, who's name the Klaus Advanced Computing Building Proudly displays. The event will start at 6:30PM, and will be held in Klaus 1447. Pizza will be provided following the event.

The following Tech Talk will be on February 12th, and we will be hosting someone else who needs no intro, IBM. As one of the key founders of the computing industry and one of the most recognizable names in technology, IBM continues to lead the way in technology solutions, in addition to producing the world's most powerful computers.

We hope to see you there as we continue our biweekly tech talk program with these fantastic speakers!
